Text Revision at the Pan Orthodox Council: What is Possible, and Probable

Can the texts be changed at the Council?

Can the texts be changed at the Council? Aren't the bishops attending expected to contribute to the revision of the documents?

The texts cannot be changed, UNLESS every change is unanimously approved. This is rather impossible, given the chasm that exists between the supporters of the new ecumenical ecclesiology and those Orthodox bishops who are sticking to the patristic vision of the Church. To have the many changes made which have been adopted by, for example, the Church of Greece would require much more time for deliberation and discussion than has been allotted at the Council. At the Council, bishops are only given 12 minutes to speak on the agenda of the entire Council.
